CE Marked Products Modified to Meet Revised EU Directives
Effective Date: October to December 2015 production
Reason for change: To change the information on
nameplate and included documents with a product to
meet the revision of EU Directives:
EMC Directive (2014/30/EU)
Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU)
What Changes?
Adding a manufacturer’s address
Describing included documents with a product
in multiple European languages
Clarifying an importer
OMRON will modify the design on the nameplate and included documents with a product to meet the
revision of EU Directive. There will be no change in functions and performance on products and
products can be continuously used when incorporated in machines and equipment.
These changes are required for products with CE Marking, for the purpose of enhancing information
propagation of precautions and traceability to end users within Europe.
Cautions When Exporting to Europe
Products for distribution in Europe after April 20, 2016 will be subject to the regulations.
Customers will not be able to ship unmodified product by itself (such as spare parts) to
Europe after April 20, 2016.
When customers incorporate an unmodified product in machines or equipment, they
can continue to be used after April 20.
Products before the design modification which pass customs before April 20, 2016, submitted by
OMRON or customers, can be continuously distributed within Europe after April 20.
